ARTORNOT- ONLINE ART RATING GAME
At www.artornot.org you can submit all data imaginable.
You can either submit an existing URL or picture files from your hard drive.
There is no single person, no fixed jury or institution
that rates whether the submitted works are art or not.
The users visiting the artornot website vote themselves
on a scale from 10-0 (art-or-not).
Each month, there are two winners who win cash.
On the one hand the artist of the best rated work,
on the other one of the users who rated for this work.
The monthly winners and the link to their work will be presented
at www.artornot.org and in the artornot screensaver.
The project is continued as long as users participate.

All data imaginable can be submitted.
You can either submit an existing url or picture files (.jpg/.gif - up to 100KB) from your hard drive.
That gives the person submitting the greatest possible freedom of production and copyright.
The artornot database is devised for 300 pieces of work.
When a new piece is submitted the work rated worst up to then drops out.

You can simply rate the works on the scale shown above.
After each rating a new work will be randomly chosen
and automatically loaded for the next rating.

Every two weeks the three best pieces of work are collected on an extra list
where they are newly rated.
At the end of a month these ratings make the winner of the month.
By paying a $1 charge you can vote your personal favourite.
For the charge you will receive an artornot screensaver via e-mail that changes every month.
After two more weeks you can see which work (winner of the month) and which user who voted for the winner of the month wins the money prize.

The money earned during the monthly competition is splitted the following way:
After a deduction of 20% overhead expenses, the best piece of work recieves 40%,
as does one of the users who chose this piece of work as his or her favourite.
This winner is randomly
chosen live and online once a month -
the exact time will be announced on this web site.
Every User, who participates in this draw will be announced via email.
The winners of the months are notified via email.
Their prize money (minimum: US$10) is transferred to their paypal or bank account within the following two weeks.

After the announcement of the winner of the month all votes of this month are erased.
The rating of the pieces of work starts from the beginning.
